The Australian Government has raised the bar on English Language Requirements for Student and Temporary Graduate visas. These revisions, announced as part of the Migration Strategy, aim to better equip international students for academic and career success in Australia.

For Temporary Graduate Visa (TGV) Applicants, the minimum IELTS test score has been lifted to 6.5 (or equivalent), with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Test results must now be within 1 year of application.

Student Visa Holders now require a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, and packaged ELICOS courses mandate a score of 5.0.
