The 2024-25 NSW Skilled Migration Program is launching in September, with invitations starting in October. This year brings some key changes designed to simplify the process for skilled workers.

Key Changes for 2024-25:

Frequent Invitations

Invitation rounds will now happen every 2-3 weeks until all spots are filled—giving you more chances to receive an invitation throughout the year.

Flexible Skilled Employment Definition

NSW has adopted a more ‘flexible’ approach, considering multiple factors for assessing skilled employment. Alongside the skills assessing authority’s opinion, NSW will now consider ANZSCO information, employment records, and references.

Reintroduction of NSW Skills Lists

NSW will prioritise all occupations within the Unit Group—which includes several related occupations that share similar skills. This broadens the eligibility for professionals across multiple roles.

TSMIT Concessions for Subclass 491

TSMIT now applies at the time of application for Subclass 491. Eligible occupations can access concessions, including:

  • Type 1: 90% of TSMIT
  • Type 2: Up to 10% in non-monetary components

Regional NSW Graduate Pathway

Recent graduates who studied in Regional NSW can now apply for nomination under Subclass 491—streamlining the transition from student to skilled worker.

Simplified EOI Processing

All valid EOIs will be considered for NSW nomination, reducing delays and improving the process.
