Australia and the UK, united by the Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement, also known as the ‘Australia-UK FTA,’ are injecting new energy into the Working Holiday Maker (WHM) program.
We have seen some highlights of this FTA across other visa subclasses (the TSS visa), but let’s have a look at how it has transformed for British WHM this year.
Starting July 1, 2024, UK passport holders can now secure up to three Working Holiday visas (WHV) without specific work requirements, offering unparalleled freedom and extended time in the country. What does this mean? No more farm work for British Citizens in order to secure their second and third WHV’s.
These changes only impact British Citizens at this stage, it won’t impact agreements with other WHM partner countries, as bilateral negotiations remain unaffected.
