There have been significant changes to the Temporary Activity (Subclass 408) (Australian Government Endorsed Events) visa as well as several concessions available to Ukrainian temporary visa holders and passport holders.
Temporary Activity (Subclass 408) (AGEE) Visa
For applications made on or after 21 Feb 2022, Applicants are no longer required to be working or have an offer of work in a key sector to be eligible for the grant of a Subclass 408 visa on the AGEE Stream. They may work across any sector in Australia.
The Subclass 408 will remain in place for the time being.
Temporary Humanitarian (Subclass 786) Visa for Ukrainians
In response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, the Prime Minister announced on 20 Mar 2022 that the Temporary Humanitarian (Subclass 786) visa will be made available to all Ukrainian temporary visa holders currently in Australia and those who arrive in the current months.
This visa is valid for three yearsand will allow people to work and access Medicare and appropriate support services during this period.
