New pathway announced under Australian Government Endorsed Event (AGEE) Stream

In a bid to assist temporary visa holders inside Australia, the Department of Home Affairs have announced a new pathway available under the Temporary Activity (Subclass 408) visa. Under the stream of ‘Australian Government endorsed events’, the Government has introduced a new event titled COVID-19 Pandemic.

This is available to temporary visa holders whose visa is due to expire and they’re unable to apply for any other Australian visa. Applicants may only apply if their current visa is due to expire in 28 days, or their visa has expired within the last 28 days.

If you cannot leave Australia due to COVID-19 restrictions and can work in critical sectors within Australia, including healthcare, childcare and agriculture during the COVID-19 pandemic, then you may be eligible for this visa.
